Re: Departure of Cambodian JENESYS Delegation

A Cambodian youth delegation of 20 people, consisting of 16 high school students, one government official and 3 teachers, will depart Cambodia on October 27, 2008 for a stay of approximately 10 days in Japan. This is the forth group, from Cambodia to join the JENESYS Programme *(Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths).

During their visit to Japan, students will visit sites related to Japanese politics, economy, and social and cultural affairs, as well as local communities. They will join in with exchange events with Japanese youths and citizens, including homestays, school visits, discussions, seminars, student conferences, etc. Read the rest of this entry »

Kampot Province

Kampot is a province on the South coast of Cambodia and is 148km from Phnom Penh. Kampot has 4,873sq km area, 558,586 populations, 108 densities, 8 distict, 92 communes, and 477 villages.

Name: Bokor Resort, Locates at 42-Kilometer distance from the provincial town of Kampot, and was found by a French people 1922 during the reign of the King, Sisovath Before, Bokor was a leisure place for French colonists who need to exchange atmosphere from the plain area to the mountainous area at seaside. The Mountain of Bokor has 1,075-meter height, good weather and beautiful natural view with big trees and rocks shaping up as animal figure. In Sang Kum Reas Ni Yum, there were public buildings, which look like a city there. At seven-kilometer distance from the mountain, there is a swimming spot locating at the waterfall? Po Pok Vil?. Banteay Meanchey Province

Banteay Meanchey is a province in the North West of Cambodia and is 351km from Phnom Penh. General information: Banteay Meanchey Province has 6,679 sq km area, 703,356 populations, 87 densities, 8 distict, 63 communes, and 604 villages. In this province have more beautiful attract of tourist such as:

Name: Ang Teuk Kanh Va is the natural resort locating at Se Rey Sa Phoan District, along the National Road No 69A in four-kilometer distance from the provincial town or 364-kilometer distance from Phnom Penh. Visitors who visit the resort are usually interested in: Abundance of fresh air. Beautiful scenary with blowing winds of Ang Teuk Kang Va. Leisure activities such as swimming, fishing and boating. WAT BOTIYARAM

This is the pagoda visible across the Tonle Sap in Chroy Chung Wa. It is lacated directly across from the Riverside Hotel, and unlike Wat Prachum Sakor is visible from Phnom Penh.

WAT SWAY POUPEAR

WAT SARAWOAN

Wat Sarawoan is located just to the east (River) side of  Norodom Boulevard on street 178. and is better known to tourists and expatriate residents as the former site of Seeing Hands Massage, the massage done by blind Cambodians.

WAT TUOL TOMPUNG

Wat Tuol Tompung is located on Mao Tse Tung Boulevard a few blocks west of  Monivong, and is situated on the south side of the street, It is a large and bustling complex housing an active school offering English language classes.

WAT PHNOM

Wat Phnom is probably the most historically interesting of the Phnom Penh pagodas. Its legend, according to G. Coedes, runs as follows : In the fourteenth century, Lady Penh was building a house near the Tonle Sap, and was about to use in its construction a large koki tree which had floated down the river. It is easy to walk along Monivong Boulevard many times without ever noticing that one of Phnom Penh’s most historic pagodas is located in the very center of things. Wat Koh can be found on the west side of Monivong at Street 140.
