Phnom Penh: The Documentation Center of Cambodia (DC-Cam) organized a visit on July 16, 2007 for 133 students to study about the Khmer Rouge Tribunal.

Ms. Sayana Ser, head of information dissemination unit of the DC-Cam, claims that those students have been selected from many public and private universities.

She points out that the aim of the program is to allow students to study about the process of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) and, especially, its legal procedures.

Ms. Sayana Ser said that when they arrived at the place, the students met with co-prosecutors, co-investigating judges, and press section of the tribunal. “Meanwhile, those students asked the lawyers a lot of good questions about the process of the Khmer Rouge trials in order to improve their understanding about it.”

DC-Cam’s officials said that those students would go to provinces in the near future to disseminate information about the process of the Khmer Rouge trials to people.

Ms. Sayana said that so far the DC-Cam has organized a number of visits for students and the people to the Khmer Rouge Tribunal buildings, Tuol Sleng prison, Cheung Aek Genocidal Center and the DC-Cam.
